Polo School

The Augusta Polo School is located 45 minutes south of our nations capital “Ottawa” (15 min. south of Kemptville and 15 min. North of Brockville).  It is our goal to introduce the sport of polo to all level of riders and ages in a safe and fun environment.  

We’ll provide you with all of the necessary equipment to get started.  Why not give it a try !

We offer lessons by well established, qualified, & rated polo instructors. Full educational programs available, tapered to suit individual needs. Private or group lessons available.

Introduction to Polo – This is a 2 hr overview of the sport to those first time polo enthuiasts including going through the equipment, basic swings using the foot mallet/wooden horse, the game, pursuing polo and membership into the Augusta Polo Club  (all neccessary equipment provided).

Introductory Polo School (prerequisite for joining the Augusta Polo Club).  This is a series of 16 sessions to introduce new players to the sport.  The sessions focus on riding for polo, hitting, rules, and game play.  Once members graduate they play in controlled coaching chukkers with a qualified rated instructor to ensure students understand the rules and game play.

We also offer:

– Group and private lessons

– Weekly coaching chukkers

– Weekly instruction to club members
 
– One and two day intense clinics

– Training and schooling of polo ponies

Kathy Mills – Instructor, Umpire

Kathy Mills is a long time,  consistently strong low goal polo player who got her start with the Montreal Polo Club. A gifted rider known for her defensive style of play,  Kathy has played polo in many tournaments and  countries including Argentina.  After 14 years of playing, and now retired from polo, Kathy lends her time and skill to new and beginner players, helping them understand the game of polo and develop their riding skills.
